Kate & Anna McGarrigle - "Dancer With Bruised Knees " (1977) Lp "Dancer With Bruised Knees" was their second album, and follows in the same vein as their debut. However, a little softer around the edges Lots of accordion, various stringed instruments, piano, and gorgeous harmonies from the McGarrigle sisters, sometimes singing in French (they are from Montreal), sometimes in English. They have a down home folky sound I can feel from my head to my toes. The music remains fresh and uplifting after many plays while the lyrics are a delight. The songwriting is sharp and inventive again, the instrumentation and production on a par with their debut and the lyrics rather more acerbic.
